ELI ROSENBLATT
"I like people to get their own ideas from the work. Some of it is obvious and people make up their own stories about it, which I don't mind at all. It is a mixture of imagination and experience. I just like painting. Some of the imagery is from faces that I have seen and from people that I have known. I used to run a bar in Taiwan, Catch 22. Back alleys and nightlife have always intrigued me – the stuff that conversations are made of – and the conversationalists. They are the masters of singular unusual talents or the jugglers of a menagerie of seemingly opposite arts. They have memorable, quirky personalities or oddly normal ones for the breadth of their pursuits. In short, they are the people you should know."
Rosenblatt was born and raised in Milwaukee, when he was eposed to art through his parents, Adolf and Suzanne – both artists. He and his siblings created art in his dad's studio often. One of his first jobs was working as a dishwasher at William Ho's. In his 20s, he lived in China and Taiwan, learning the language and the culture, as he taught English.
The bar he opened in Taiwan influenced the theme and character of his drawing and painting and he has exhibited his art at many different venues across Milwaukee. He also creates beautiful

ANN BAER
Ann Baer creates tall, elegant sculptures from wood objects found in resale shops. The repurposed wood is then spray painted with a glossy, colorful basecoat/clear coat automotive finish. The work is then paired with acrylic or watercolor paintings that mirror the shapes and colors of the structures.
Her work is intuitive and explores personal and world issues. She is influenced from diverse periods of her life. Seventeen years as a graphic designer cultivated attention to detail and a strong design sense. The diversity of media and style comes from working in a variety of materials while teaching elementary school.
A tiny school budget fostered interest in recycling. A strong interest in nature is derived from idyllic summers at grandma’s cottage. The intense color is simply her wild woman alter ego seeking an audience. Exhibiting throughout the state, her artwork are included in numerous private collections, including the Journal Sentinel and Quadracci Collections. Attending Cardinal Stritch University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ms.Baer earned B.A. and M.S. degrees in art education.

BRANDEE LYONS
These large pieces depict environments both strange and inviting. Using
mixed media on paper and acrylic on panel, I begin by applying media
randomly. I then let the abstract forms guide me, much like finding figures
in the clouds on a summer day. As the characters in the clouds are revealed,
conscious control takes over and I explore the relationship between humans,
nature, dreams and reality.
October 4 & 5, 10am-4pm both days
Featuring the Art of Shelly Rosenquist (Paintings) and guest artists,
Erika Sheer (Wood Art), Paul Stolen (Photography), Heather Eiden (Ceramics/Mixed Media) and Sharon Adair (Painting & Glass)
ORIGINS OF THE MKE STUDIO TOUR
The MKE Studio Tour had its humble beginnings in 2018 when Jean Wells and Andrew Linderman started discussing the possibility of an urban studio tour. As the idea continued to percolate in their minds, they began reaching out to others for support, which eventually led to a collaboration with Wisconsin Craft. With their shared passion for promoting Fine Craft fields and local artists, the Studio Tour Committee was formed, bringing together a team of like-minded individuals to turn this vision into a reality.
